Episode 202: Behind The Laughs: Our Funniest Screwups
Press play and step into the room where our best mistakes live. We stitched together the wildest outtakes from our skit vault—parodies that veer off course, voices no one planned, and laugh fits so hard the song sheets might as well be confetti. What started as a quick way to break up our episodes turned into a full-on celebration of the moments that never make the final cut, and somehow, they’re even funnier than what we aimed for.
We kick off with a Fresh Prince riff that explodes into uncharted territory, then slide into a “Lean On Me” tangent where one unexpected voice takes down the whole room. The crown jewel is a power ballad parody that starts strong and beautifully derails as the lines get too bold and the backup vocals lose it. There’s also a fast hit of cartoon chaos on “Too Close,” with a Goofy-style delivery that punches through the mix. Between the bits, we share quick context, the creative sparks behind each attempt, and why certain breaks became instant keepers.
This collection doubles as our origin story. You’ll hear the pre-podcast clip that had us gasping for air and convinced us to start recording on purpose. We tip our hats to Weird Al and classic radio comedy, talk about how outtakes sharpen our timing, and shout out Jay’s new shop, Big Jay’s Replays, now open on Main Street in downtown Finley, Ohio. If you love musical parodies, improv energy, and the kind of laughter you can feel in your ribs, this is your episode-length grin. Tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a break, and drop a comment with the time stamp that wrecked you. We’re ready to hear which disaster was your favorite.

In a world drowning in boredom, two heroes rise from the ashes with nothing but microphones. An extremely poor decision. Making skills. They faced danger. They faced chaos. They faced absolutely no consequences. For anything they're about to say.
SPEAKER_08:Gather around, everybody! We got ourselves a special episode of It's Every Day with John and Jay. I have John. We are Sam Jay. Just me. Jay has opened his uh store. Uh Big Jade's replays in Finlay, Ohio. If you're ever in downtown Finlay, go check that shit out. Uh so we got a special episode. It's probably gonna be a maybe a short episode, but we uh if you hear our breaks, or like if you listen to this podcast, probably at the halfway point we do like songs or silly skits. You know, it it's just kind of our, you know, just a way to break up the monotony of maybe just listening to us jaw for like two an hour or so. So we do like songs and skits and spoofs and stuff, and you know, it's it's kind of our uh homage to like weird Al Yankovich or uh or Bob and Tom for that matter. But with any good, you know, song or skit, there's always gonna be those times where you fuck it up. You mess it up, you fuck it up, uh, and you gotta start over. Fortunately for all of you today is that I saved some of these fuck-ups because they were just so funny that I was like, you know what, maybe I could use this later down the line in an episode or something. And guess what? That day is today. That's right. This is a s this is gonna be an outtake episode. There's always you know, you always see outtakes in movies, you see outtakes in TV shows, you you know, they do it. We have them too, so we're we are not perfect, but to me, some of these outtakes I feel are actually funnier than what we were trying to convey in the first place. So uh so right off the rip here, you're gonna hear uh kind of a take on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air spoof, and these are gonna be kind of rapid fire. I I I'll pop in in between each one and maybe give you some context of what we were trying to do. Uh but that you know a lot of these don't last that long, maybe you know 15-20 seconds. But at the end, at the end of this, stick around to the end of this episode because I have a special treat. Uh I want to do since we're doing outtakes, I have to share the ultimate outtake. And this is like maybe we've shared this on the show before. I think we have, but I have to highlight it on a show like this because this was the ultimate outtake. I don't think I've ever laughed at so hard in my life on something Jay has done. And my brother Justin was here, and this is this is pre-podcasting days. Like this is just this is when I first got all this equipment, and we were just fucking around. And this is like kind of the precursor to this show, is that we were just making up spoofs and just fucking around, and and then eventually it became this, what you hear today over 202 episodes later, or whatever this number is. I think it's 202. Uh you'll hear that at the end, and I'll give you more context to what Jay was gonna do, and you'll hear it's basically just me, Jay, and Justin just busting our fucking laughter, you know, just blah ha ha ha. So, like they say laughter is contagious, so maybe this will put a smile on your face. I know when I hear people just burst it out laughing, it makes me laugh, even though I have no clue what they're talking about or laughing about. So um so yeah, this first one is we were doing a spoof on the fresh prince of Bel Air, and Jay just went off on a tangent, and like we I don't think we we did, I think we ended up doing a spoof of it, but this one was funny because he just went just ham on it, and it didn't really line up that well. So, but I thought the first part was really funny, so I ended up saving it. So this is uh Jay uh fucking up uh the Fresh Prince of Bel Air spoof. Sad day, sad day. Testing one too.
SPEAKER_00:Motherfucker, man. Dude, it is so good. I'm not gonna lie. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Well, that's that's a story all about how I stuck my dick in a fat ass cow, and then I got her pregnant in 29 months, and I tell you how I just became a wife of a gunt.
SPEAKER_05:Where did that come from?
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god. Oh my god. Okay. Oh my god. In Northwest Ohio, where this cow grazed well on the grass, and she spent most of her days bitching at me and yelling at my friends. I said, bitch, this is about to all fucking go to end. With a couple of bullets in and one gun. Gonna shoot myself in the face for fun. Then I got in a fight with my bitch, and she was like, Listen, you're moving out right now tonight.
SPEAKER_07:That's okay.
SPEAKER_08:It's every day with Yada Jay, welcome back. Yeah, these are gonna be like kind of rapid fire. Uh, some of the, like I said, these are kind of short. Uh, but you but you know, I had to save some of these because I thought they were really funny. Um this next one coming up was we did a spoof of stand by me. Uh or lean on me, not stand by me. Lean on me. And sometimes Jay will go off on a tangent and I don't know about it. Because I'm like running the board and I'm running the, you know, and sometimes I'll do backup vocals, but sometimes he'll come out, come off with voices that like I didn't know he was gonna do, which just fucking cracks me and breaks me. And so what I sometimes when I break, he breaks because he knew it would it would break me. So that's why in this in this clip where this comes out, I don't know what this voice is supposed to be, but it just like for some reason I was just like, you know, I could I was just laughing my ass off. And then Jimmy Jay uh burst out laughing. So uh so here we go.
SPEAKER_01:Are you gonna help with them? Maybe we can harmonize, John.
SPEAKER_05:That voice, dude! You caught me off guard with that voice!
SPEAKER_08:Welcome back. I know that was a short one, but okay, we got a something a little bit longer. Ao, giggity giggity. Uh this was fucking hilarious. So we were trying to do Total Eclipse of the Heart, and Jay was knocking this out of the park. Almost and the problem was he was doing it too good. Some of the shit he was saying in the beginning of the song was just fucking hilarious, and I couldn't stop. Of course, it's always when I'm doing backup vocals or I'm doing like shit like that where I break, and you'll hear it. Like, there was a part where he's talking about making a batwig out of his fucking nutsack skin or some shit like that. Dude, I couldn't, I lost it. And I'm just and of course, he gets uh he starts laughing, and it just totally derails. But the shit he I had to save this because this was like hilarious. All these lines he was coming up with, and and then like when it got to kind of the faster part in the song, he was like, Yeah, I'm done. But I mean, this is like I had this is something that had to be preserved for the masses to hear, and today you're gonna get to hear that. So it I have great honor to introduce this, the you know, total clips of the shirt. I don't know what we were gonna call it, but it's definitely fucking hilarious. So uh here we go. Here's Jay. Just just fucking saying all kinds of crazy goofy shit. We'll be back.
SPEAKER_01:Every now and then I get a little bit horny, and I wanna touch my dick. Stick my little dick in the cushion couch. Every now and then I try to stretch my wiener stick it up my butt until I say out. Thinking about fucking on your butt. Every now and then I need to nut. Every now and then I try to touch my penis, but it just fights back. Every now and then I try to make a bat wing using all the skin above my sand. Every now and then I try to touch my puppets, but my dog tries to fight on my arm. Every now and then I spread my cheeks. Touching finger stickman till it hurts. And I need your fucking tears to rub upon my dick. I'll make my dog real sick till the fucking boobs and shits. Then I'll clean it up with my ass. And rub it all on my balls, and we can bang. Yeah, I'm done, dude. Dude, I lost it after that part where we fucking fell apart, dude. We fell apart. Every now and then we fall apart.
SPEAKER_08:Every day with John and Jay, and sometimes every day we do uh mess up here and there. This is a special episode. If you cannot tell already, uh Jay is not here. Yep, see, he's not here. Jay's not here, he was uh busy this weekend with uh getting ready for his grand opening of his new store, Big Jay's Replays in Finley, Ohio. It's in on Main Street in downtown Finley. So, guys, if you're in uh the Finley or Northwest Ohio area, check him out, man. I'm sure he'll have a bunch of things to say about that uh next week, because we will be back to our normally scheduled dynamic duo sell, same bat time, same bat channel. And as you can hear, you know, Jay likes to make bat wings out of his nut nut sack, so which is you know, hey, sometimes, you know, you can't criticize art. So on this next clip, uh we were doing uh uh Too Close, uh that kind of RB song, and Jay decided to, as Jay does, just fuck around and he started doing the song in a goofy voice, like literally not figuratively, goofy as a Disney goofy, like you know, and I'm just like, oh man, it'd be cool if you would have done the whole song like that, but I know that's probably not sustainable, but uh you'll hear you can hear me just like oh man. Uh so yeah, so here we go. Uh, and we'll be back on the other end of this. It's every day with Johnny Jay.
SPEAKER_01:I wonder if she could tell I'm hard right now!
SPEAKER_07:Yuck I was not prepared for that.
SPEAKER_01:All right. Don't stop now, bitch. You done done it. Baby, when you're grinding, I wanna see some dike shit. Oh how I like it. Two chicks and fucking. Oh man, I don't know, dude. I had this shit yesterday.
SPEAKER_08:It was so Yeah, it's every day with Jada Jay. Welcome back. I know another quick, quick little hitter there. Uh this is what we do. Uh it there's plenty more of these. Some of them are not appropriate. They were the these those are pro uh some of these will never reach you know the light of day. Uh but some of these I could show you, and I you you heard some of them today. But this I saved the best for last everybody. And this wasn't even a part of our show. This was, again, something I said this earlier. It predates its everyday with John and Jay, or even back in the day with John and Jay. Uh I think this was done maybe 2014, 2015, I 2013, maybe. Uh, this is when I first got all the microphones and the equipment, and we were just dicking around with things. And we're like, hey, let's just do like because Jay likes to spoof songs, and he would do that. Everything you hear on this show is shit that we would say in a normal conversation outside of what you hear beyond the world of this audio podcast. And we were like, you know what? This some of the shit he makes up is just too fucking good. So I was like, dude, let's just hit record on this crap and see what we come up with. And I we d he didn't get 30 seconds into this, and we were dying. This is again, I as I said earlier, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. And my brother Justin, you can hear him in the background, because he he was just hanging out with us. I think he was helping us get it all set up and whatnot. And he was dying too. So this was a country song. Uh I I I don't remember what it was, but you know, right off the rip, Jace is like, this is the best country song in the world, tribute. I knew this was gonna be epic to say the least. So I'm so excited, and uh maybe we've we featured this on the show before, I don't recall, but I have to bring this back up because this is this is kind of what started the podcast in a way. Is that you know, doing spoofs and doing, you know, skits, it's just something that I hope you guys like and I hope you guys appreciate. Um because we've been doing this for what 200 plus episodes, like I said, and we never get tired of it. And it's you would think we would get bored or get tired or we would sit here and uh run out of ideas, but we really don't. I mean, some there are some nights where we're sitting here kind of like, boy, what do we do, you know? And you know, some nights are better than others, and I I will fully uh admit that, but you know, when when it hits, it fucking hits. And you know, again, this is it it's just we're we're inspired by the Bob and Tom show and Weird Al. And you know, outtakes and skits are a part of the game, and move like I said, movies have them, and you know, I I hope you guys enjoyed this this special episode. So uh I will end our our episode tonight with the birth. I feel this is the birth of it's every day with John and Jay. Uh without further ado, see you guys next week. I'm John Brickner.
SPEAKER_02:I'm going to play the best country song in the world. Tribute. Billy Bob comes out from the field and he yells at me. He says he wants the cop of feel. I said, buddy, I'm gay.
